- In order to execute its mandate, the 13 Council members have formed three committees:
- The Accreditation and Training Committee
- It oversees the registration and accreditation of journalists in the country
- It also oversees the training functions of the Council
- The Ethics and Public Information Committee
- It oversees the adherence to the Code of Conduct for the Practice of Journalism by media practitioners
- It oversees the publicity of the Council
- The Finance and Administration Committee
- It oversees the financial and administrative operations of the Council (including budgeting and recruitments),
Complaints are handled by the Complaints Commission which comprises five Commissioners. The Secretariat is the executive arm of the Council and is headed by the Executive Director who is also the Secretary to the Board.
